Gratitude Tree Ceremony

Reverend Tanya Wyldflower and Rainah Dancing Waters will conduct our annual Gratitude Tree Ceremony where we write out on a tag what we are grateful for and place it on our Gratitude Tree. At least once a year it is wise to consider what it is in our lives that we wish to give thanks for. I’ve been thinking about all the support and assistance our Center receives every day, given freely from the hearts and souls of our members. Our Center is a member run Center, comprised mostly of volunteers and a few people who get paid a very small amount to do a very great deal of service for us. I have found that when we give to an idea larger than ourselves, we receive more than we give, always. It appears we cannot out give the Universe! ❤️

The Grate and the Grateful

Sally Wells will examine “Gratefulness.” She comments, “There is One Great Power which gives of Itself as all Existence—It is our very Being. Everything is full of Great-ness. We are the Great-full. Realizing this—embodying this— This is the opportunity of a lifetime”. ❤️

“The Trap of Belief”

Reverend Ruth Barnhart asks, “What does it mean to surrender and what exactly are we surrendering? What of loss of control or not getting what we desire, don’t we get a say? Is there a Divine Presence that has our backs?  How do I know what is mine or not?  It all can seem too much and yet it is so simple.” ❤️

“Effortless Being”

As Sally Wells notes, “We tend to identify ourselves by what we do, or what roles we’ve taken on in life, sometimes determined by outside sources. This can keep us from living fully as the powerfully creative spiritual beings we are. Honoring our truth at a deeper level opens us to limitless possibilities, freedom of choice, and personal integrity. Are you ready to honor the “who” that is truly you?” ❤️

“God It!”

Exploring this month’s theme of surrender, Licensed Practitioner Graduate, Sylvia Gilmour says: “Defining surrender as ceasing resistance to an opponent and submitting to their authority can feel threatening and disempowering. Yet surrender also means accepting that we don’t have to fight our way through life and deliberately deciding to align with the Divine for guidance and support in each moment. When a challenge arises, we can ‘God It’. ❤️

“Call Off the Search”

Reverend Ruth Barnhart speaks on our theme of “Coming Home” commenting: “For eons, there have been tales of spiritual pilgrimages, heroic journeys, quests to find home. Yet the goal seems ever elusive, forever down the path. Join us at the Mendocino Community Center on September 25th as we set out on our own way home.” ❤️

“What’s It All About?”

“What’s It All About?” is the question Reverend Ruth Barnhart explores in this talk. She comments: “Yes we know that change is the nature of life. Yes we know that there are easier times, and harder times in our individual lives and in the world. But this?? What is going on in the world? What is it we can trust? Is there no point of sanity, is there anything that is secure? Let us take a look at how this teaching applies when everything seems to be falling apart.” ❤️

“Mindful Carelessness”

Reverend Tanya Wyldflower clarifies: “Does it mean not caring? A callous, cold disregard for our good or does it mean a carefree knowing that if it is in our lives - it is for our good? I propose that nothing happens to us in any moment that does not contain our highest good. Let’s explore that idea.

“Center of the Universe

As Reverend Tanya Wyldflower’s states:: Our theme of Sovereignty is about being the chooser in our lives, not just how we live but how we respond to what happens in our world. But sometimes, to disconnect from illusion and dysfunctional patterns, we need to go on a “sabbatical” and take a break from being “who we are” and reset ourselves to regain sovereignity over our lives. Come join us in a re-set! ❤️

“The Who, What, When  and Where Of It All

Reverend Ruth Barnhart notes: Ernest Holmes spoke the words: “There is a power for good and we can use it. What does this mean in our lives, in our world? How do we access it and what exactly does it do? In this world of complexity, let us enter into the simplicity of our practice.❤️

“The Who That Is You”
